Questions

Is it free?

Yes. Upscaling is free and unlimited. Downloads up to 1500 px need no account; full-resolution files need a free account. There's no watermark.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. This tool runs in your browser: the cut-out engine is downloaded from our site and your photo stays on your device.

Does upscaling really add detail?

Resampling can't add detail; it enlarges smoothly and sharpens a little. The AI upscaler predicts plausible fine detail for photos. Neither can recover text or faces that aren't readable in the original, so start from the largest copy you have.

Why didn't it use AI?

The AI upscaler is for photos up to 1200 px on the longest side, and only runs where its model is installed. Larger images and logos use resampling, and the page tells you which method was used.

Is it good for logos?

For logos, resampling keeps edges clean. For a logo that stays sharp at any size, the best option is a vector (SVG) file — our logo maker exports one.

Can I use the result commercially?

Yes, if you have the rights to the original image. The AI model (Real-ESRGAN) is released under the BSD-3-Clause licence, which allows commercial use.
