Questions

Is the meme maker free?

Yes. Making and downloading memes is free and doesn't need an account. Free downloads have a small educateddesigner.com credit in the corner; Pro and Business plans can turn it off.

Are my pictures uploaded?

No. Pictures you upload or paste stay in your browser and are drawn there. Only searches in the free photo libraries, and caption topics you send to the AI, reach our servers.

What is classroom-safe mode?

A switch for teachers and students. It blocks swearing, insults and other words not suited to school in your captions and in AI caption ideas, and it hides photo results from libraries that can include nudity or medical images (such as classical art). It's a word filter, so still check what you share. It turns on by itself when you arrive from our education pages.

Can I use famous meme pictures?

This tool doesn't include copyrighted meme images. Use your own photos, the free photos in the tool (from Pixabay, Pexels and public-domain libraries) or the blank and panel layouts.

How do AI caption ideas work?

Describe the meme in a few words and the AI suggests six top-and-bottom captions. Every suggestion goes through a word filter before you see it, and each visitor can ask a few times an hour.

Which sizes can I download?

Square 1:1 (1080 × 1080), portrait 4:5 (1080 × 1350), story 9:16 (1080 × 1920) and wide 16:9 (1920 × 1080), as PNG or JPG.

Can I keep editing it later?

Yes. “Full editor” opens the meme in our design editor with the captions and stickers still editable. With a free account it's saved to your designs.
