Every tool opens the same editor, so you can crop, then resize, then add text in one go. Files stay on your device.

How to use it

  1. Step 1

    Open your GIF

Drop a GIF on the page or pick one. It opens in your browser and is never uploaded.

  2. Step 2

    Write the caption

Type the text and pick the font, size and colours. It's drawn on the preview as you type.

  3. Step 3

    Place and time it

Move it, then choose the first and last frame it shows on.

  4. Step 4

    Download

Make the file and compare the new size and frame count with the original, then save it to your device.

Questions

Is my GIF uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is opened and edited inside your browser tab, and the new file is made on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers, so it works for private or unreleased work.

Can I add different text on different frames?

Yes. Add one caption with its frame range, apply it, then add the next caption with a different range.

Which fonts can I use?

A set of common fonts that every device has (Impact, Arial, Georgia, Courier and more), so the caption looks the same everywhere.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Yes, it's free and needs no account. Editing and converting your own GIFs adds nothing to them. Animations you build from photos or a video follow the GIF maker's rules: free files are up to 15 seconds with a small corner credit; Pro removes the credit and allows 60 seconds.
